Our Process

Timing is critical to the success of your business. A properly planned project will ensure your continued success. Our six-step service outline sets the stage for the process that is required to take your project from concept through to completion.

Step 1: Initial Consultation

No fee service

During our initial meeting, we learn about your expectations for your project. Four aspects of construction are incorporated into the discussion:

  • Use of space
  • Interior & exterior finishes
  • Desired budget range
  • Expected timeframe for the start and completion of construction

At the end of this meeting, we will understand the information that is required to begin putting a plan in place for construction.

Step 2: Proposal Preparation

Fee-based service

Proposal Preparation is the phase of planning where we begin to apply resources to the development of your project. Whether your project requires design, developing the scope of work, or providing pricing to an established plan, we provide the services to tie all four aspects of construction together as discussed in Step 1.

Step 3: Proposal Review

No fee service

At the completion of Step 2, it is necessary to schedule a review of the proposal information to confirm the details of the proposal meet the expectations set regarding the use of space, interior & exterior finishes, budget, and schedule. At the end of the review, three options will be presented:

  • Continue to step 4
  • Revise proposal for changing needs; repeat Steps 1 – 3
  • Discontinue process

Step 4: Construction Planning

Construction deposit required

Now the project begins to take shape. The construction agreement is prepared, selections for finishes are confirmed, permits are applied for, and the start of construction is scheduled. Labor and materials are beginning to be committed for the start of construction and excitement begins building as all of your hard planning work starts to come to life.

Step 5: Construction

Payment schedule to be followed

Kodiak Construction maintains a regular work schedule of Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:30pm unless an alternative schedule is requested or required. Trade professionals and project managers may work on Friday as well per the construction schedule. Work goes on continuously until completion and you are able to move into your new space.

Step 6: Customer Service

No fee service

Your business is up and running. We have properly lead you through the construction process and have completed all of the final details. You and your customers are enjoying the rewards of all of your planning and construction efforts. In the event anything does not function properly, our staff will be over to remedy the item and make it right with minimal impact to your customers. Your satisfaction is key as we expect you will want to refer Kodiak Construction to friends and associates in our community.
